Philip Lewis – Managing Director
Philip graduated from the Welsh School of Architecture in 1989 and joined W Griffiths, Son & Lewis to gain sufficient experience to attain Part III RIBA Qualifications. His first Project involved the conversion of a Grade II Listed chapel into a Community Centre and Concert Hall. This Project was awarded a Prince of Wales Award. Since 1995 Philip has been a Partner / Director in Lewis Partnership gaining considerable experience in the procurements of a variety of types of building projects including medical centres, community & educational facilities, social and private housing. Philip has been responsible for introducing computer-aided design and a Quality Management System to the Company. He has recently worked closely with the National Museums & Galleries of Wales at the Welsh Woollen Museum, Drefach, Velindre where great emphasis was been placed in the use of sustainable materials and technologies during the Refurbishment Works. Philip continues to be involved at all levels of the company including Management, Design,Technical and Quality. Early in 2009 Philip undertook the necessary training to become a qualified BRE Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) Assessor. This new skill has enabled him to assist the company in providing an invaluable insight when designing schemes which require a CSH rating.
Philip regularly undertakes feasibility work for Pembrokeshire and Bro Myrddin Housing Associations. Many of these schemes have either been built or are at various stages of the design / procurement path. He also acts as our main representative for the Carmarthenshire Framework.
David Ward – Associate Director
David joined Wynford & Philip Lewis, Architects & Surveyors in 1997 as an Architectural Technician, whilst continuing to read for his BSc Degree in Building Surveying. He became involved in various Projects from inception to completion, gaining experience in comprehensive design and detailing work, measured survey work, Site supervision and Contract administration.
David became eligible for his Degree in January 2000 and was promoted to full time Architectural Technologist. He was admitted to the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (C.I.A.T.) as an Associate Member in May 2001. In 2007, David was made Associate Director of Lewis Partnership Ltd.
Wynford Lewis – Chairman
Wynford has been in private practice since 1961 and became a Partner in the former W. Griffiths, Son & Lewis Architects – Llanelli and Carmarthen in 1964. Since 1964 Wynford has had a wide and varied experience in numerous projects.
The firm of Wynford and Philip Lewis was formed in 1995 and evolved to form the Lewis Partnership Ltd. in 2000. During this time, Wynford’s role has been Chairman of the Company and overall supervision for the larger commissions. Wynford’s broad ranging experience includes conservation work, indoor bowls complex, sports stadia, factories, shopping malls and healthcare facilities.
Chris Thomas – Technical Design
Prior to joining Lewis Partnership Limited in 2005, Chris was employed by Swansea Housing Association as a Planned Maintenance Assistant where his role was to carry out Property Maintenance Inspections to their portfolio of properties, and scheduling any work that was required. During his time there he gained valuable experience in dealing with various forms of building defects, establishing the cause and necessary remedial works required.
Chris joined Lewis Partnership Limited in 2005 after the completion of his Foundation Degree in Building Studies and has been involved in a variety of projects from inception to completion stages. He has gained experience in preparing detailed technical design drawings, submission of Planning and Building Regulations Applications, Client and Consultant liaison.
