SANDHURST APARTMENTS
The Brief
We were appointed by Andrew Scott Ltd ,who acquired the site from a previous client, to provide production information to enable the project to be built. We had been employed by the previous site owner to design the 7 apartments and had achieved planning approval back in 2010. The site had formally been occupied by a dwelling which had fallen into disrepair. The overriding brief was to provide a new building which would enhance the surrounding area and provide contemporary living accommodation. The site is located just 80 metres from a golden sandy beach, with views out towards the Gower, Whitford lighthouse and Worm’s head.
The Solution
The building is traditionally built and was intensely detailed due to its prime coastal location. We worked very closely with the Contractor and other consultants to provide a high quality development of 6 two bedroom apartments all with a view towards the Gower and a top floor 3 bedroom penthouse. Internally, no expense has been spared with exclusive fitted kitchens, oak floors, doors and other timber work .The exterior is a mix of natural stone and through coloured render and composite timber / aluminium windows. The roof is covered in a natural slate which helps to enhance the quality of the building. The rear area is a mix of hard and soft landscaping and provides certain apartments with garages and others with regular external parking areas. The perimeter is lined with feature stone walling and the front grounds are a mix of turf and native landscaping.
